Flow Help

Ok so I have a 70 cube. 30x23x23. I initially was going to go w/ to K4's. After more thought I settled on two K3's. Watching my tank im thinking I need to K2's. The flow is quite strong and my mushrooms wont expand no matter where I put them, my fish wont go in certain spots and it moves my sand bed alittle. I know that would only be like 1200gph w/ that plus like 200-300 gph from return. But im thinking in this shaped tank that would be enough. Plus it only took me like 50 or so gallons to fill it up after the rock and sand. Any advice.

I'd give it time. The sand bed will often move based on currents, so I wouldn't be alarmed unless you're ending up with a bare bottom in spots and then I'd only adjust.

You're still below 20x turn over rate. I'd say you're okay.

I would go with 2 Koralia 2's personally. I just switched from 55 to 75 gal & this is what I would recommend to avoid any dead spots. You would be erroring on the side of caution with this move, and it seems more corals like moderate lighting than low. This is my opinion. You may also want to point them mid level or a hair higher. Make sure you have circulation on top of tank, as well. This will also lessen the stirring up of direct sand. Keeping water surface of tank agitated is healthy, as discussed in countless articles.

I would stick with the 3's. If you feel it's too much direct flow then you can move them lower in the tank and point them towards the surface, you can point them towards each other, or point them at a wall and diffuse the power a little. It's a little tricky to get them adjusted the way you want them.
