How do I get rid of all dead spots. Are there any tricks? Any help would be apprciated.

how about posting a pic or two of your setup? it's hard to say for sure unless we can see how your rock is stacked. In general, I find that bouncing the flow off the glass will help disperse the flow all over the tank.

There are many high flow, wide stream powerheads now available that do a better job than the traditional maxijet type powerhead, such as Tunze streams (and the nanostreams), Hydor Koralias, Seios, maxistreams (modified maxijets), and vortechs. It also helps to have an open rock structure. Personally, I try to have as few rocks touching the bottom as possible, and have no rocks touch any sides of the tank (including the back). This helps a lot with dead spots.
