flow problems

well I have a mag 3.5 going into 1/2" pvc .... it splits into a non kink hose to all 4 corners of the tank and the over flow is made of 1 1/2" pvc. the guy had it rigged with a pressuse release valve....when I have it shut half way, the tank is about to overflow....any ideas? and if I have it on fully on, the flow is to low.

I would open the return to the sump all the way and the other red valve all the way and adjust the flow with the black ball valve,you may also consider changing the black valve to a screw type gate valve as they are easier to adjust in small amounts.You could also lower the return to the sump.

thanks I will have to try that, but if it is all the way open there is hardly any flow what so ever, and if I close the black one even a little, the tanks water line raise considerabbly and the sumps decreases the same....I will try in smaller incriments and see what happends

Is that Nic's old tank? He lived off of Delmar?? Give me a buzz tomorrow and I can see if I remember how he had it set up. I cant at the present time. His setups where pretty easy to figure out though. You said that you were setting up a nano? That is a bit different from a nano? give me a buzz tomorrow

that system you are running was run with a mag12. The only reason I know that is he gave it to me because he owed me money. There was never a mag 3 on it, from what I can remember.

open the drain all the way (i would have never put a drain on the return slows the flow)

adjust the return pump only, if over flowing maybe cut the teeth on the drain deeper

phil, I cant remember your number so you wanna pm me it....and I baught it from a zach in st. charles...I have a mag 9.5 I was going to sell, should I not sell it and use it on here?I havent setup a time to sell yet so I dont think the guy will mind LMK
