So I'm over here trying to dial in my drain pipe and return to make silent, but as soon as I think I have it, it either starts to make noise again or the return chamber drains too fast or fills too fast. I had it matched for a day until I put sand in and it threw everything off again. So I was wondering what's the easiest way to match them so it's silent. Or am I doing it right and its just part of the process?
I have gate valves and ball valves on both my drain and return line. Gate valves to tune it and then ball valves to shut off flow on both ends to do water changes without messing with my gate valves.
I have a 40 gallon breeder with a 20 long sump. Drain line and emergency line is 1 inch and return line is 3/4 inch.
Return pump is a Rio 2500 so my flow rate is 750 gph but after head loss it's around 500 and then after dialing in its about 400.
Hope that's enough info. Let me know if I need to explain more. Thanks guys
