Flow rate

Hey, all! My 36 gallon bow front has been up and running for almost a year now. I just recently was able to upgrade the lighting to enable myself to keep coral in the tank.

This has me wondering about flow rate. There are two koralia evolution 600s (1200gph and about a 34-36 time turnover per hour when you factor in the gallons lost when accounting for sand and rock) in the tank now. I have some zoas, a bta, and a Monti cap right now and all seems to be happy with the current flow situation. I have some hammer, frogspawn, and octospawn corals that will be here on Tuesday and I'm thinking that they ought to be happy as well.

But, I am wanting to venture into some more challenging sps such as acroporas and am curious as to whether or not I should up the flow rate. Any input is greatly appreciated!

I would look into pumps like the vortech or jabeo. I personally like the Jabeos cause their cheaper and work great. With these pumps you can adjust flow as need and they have wave settings and random flow settings. Your flow now sounds alright but with these pumps you can easily change the flow as needed and have a random flow which Is better than the same flow all the time.

Will take a look into the jabeos. Always been scared away from the vortechs due to pricing. But, the wp25 seems pretty reasonable. Can you hook two of them up to the same controller?

Also, would it be better to run 2 wp10s (3/4 flow to max would be a great random flow) or run the wp25 at a lower setting?

They have a new series out notlw I believe the rw, and and you can link mutiple pumps together. I have a 20gl with a wp25, waiting till I transfer everything to my new 75, then I'm getting dual rw15's. I'd probably get the wp25 and run it on a lower setting.
