flow recommendation

what would you recommend for a tank around 180 gallons (72x24x24), ALL sps? i was thinking about using two 6100's and a wavebox, but im not sure if that is too much or not enough... can i use the streams with the controller that comes on the wavebox? or do i need the multicontroller?
-thanks :)

That plan would work, you could also try just one 6100. You will want a source of constant directional flow in addition to the rocking flow of the wavebox- which will not carry away detritus- it only suspends it. I would use the 7095 to accomplish this.

its just that my first PH's (rio's) gave me a bad impresion of powerheads. but im sure the tunze are in a league of their own...so i dont need the 6091 controller if i us the 7095 right? which means i can get the wavebox extension instead of the wavebox? or am i still wrong? :D

No, you absolutely have to have the 6091 or you don't have a wavebox, but it also can connect to the 7095, they all work together.

People have said here they are getting 1.5" on a 180, I think 1" is to be expected and 1.5" is an exaggeration.

Since Roger is so humble :p I'll chime in on this comment. You're absolutely correct to assume that Tunze streams are a cut above other power heads. No comparison.

I know people use them with the MRC kalkreactor. The pump it comes with cannot work for very long if immersed in kalk so it would have to be used with our Calcium Dispenser or a kalkreactor of another sort. You could also just plan on changing the pump every 6-12 months.

regarding the wavebox, it can be used with other forms of circulation (closed loops, etc...) correct? it just works better with the streams right?

Yes, I don't even know that it necessarily is better with the Streams, it just allows you to coordinate the timing better if you use Streams and the Multicontroller.

It depends. The 6080 and 6060 are generally stock items. The 6000 and 6100 are in high demand and behind the production capacity of the company, same for the 7095 but we have made a great deal of progress recently toward getting caught up, I would say 4-6 weeks at present. For the wavebox, it is new and it is made a bit differently in that Axel's brother who owns a plastic and metal fabricating shop is making the housing for us and he was very sick for a while and that set us back pretty far. Most of our products are made that way, largely by hand and by a single person or at most a few people so it means set backs can happen but it also means we know exactly where to go when their is a problem.
