I asked a similar question in a Vendor forum and they basically said Apples vs. Oranges, the Hydro's don't move near the same volume as the 6100's.

I just got two Vortech's (http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merc...OD&Product_Code=ICE-VORTECH&Category_Code=Eco) yesterday and I can let you know how that goes if your looking for an alternative the the 6100's

I like the MJ 1200 mods. Small and can push water like a seio 1500.
