Flow?

I know high flow isn't a req of coralli. but will it hurt them? I've got a few striped mushrooms in the front bottom of my 24g Nano Cube with a 1200 MaxiJet, 295gph. I feel like there is too much flow because the shrooms aren't as large and flat as I think they should be. I plan to add mostly more LPS to the tank but I do have a digitata, a blue ridge and a bird's nest. They are fine now but I also want to consider them if I drop down.

I have a MJ900, about 235gph I think, would this be ok? Or, should I just put my HydroFlo back on or maybe try a splitter to two nozzles? What do you think?

Depends on the kind of flow. I have 30x turnover in my tank but it's with Tunze nanostreams that provide a gentle, wide flow pattern. My shrooms don't mind the high flow. MaxiJets have a bit more of a harsh flow pattern. The HydroFlo will help to break up the stream-like, laminar flow the maxi's give.

Thanks for the reply. I think I'll first try the HydroFlow out. If that doesn't work, then I might try the 900. I'd like to make the mushrooms happy but in doing so I don't want to make anything else unhappy.

Thanks.

Shrooms really dont like a lot of flow, sometimes it will make them close up and then they wont be able to feed properly..
