how long should it take for my new flowar pot to open up like when he was in the display? He's opened a little but his colors are all dark and in the display he was nice and pretty. The only prob. with my water check is my nitrates are just barely high. I'm doing a water change tomarrow. Any advice?

Nitrates should be as close to 0 as you can get them. With that said, some of the color change may be due to different lights. I bought a green one and it has changed to red. Other than that it looks great. I am hopeful that my new lights will convince it that it should be green.
