Would ceramic flowerpots leech anything or stuff like that into a reef tank's water?

I always wondered the same thing. I see people use them for clowns to breed in. I can't remember if I've ever seen them in a reef tank.

They shouldnt leach anything into them if they are fired but some clay pots people have said raised their pH a little.

It depends on the particular pot and what that particular pot is made of and how it has been fired.

I have used the clay (reddish ones you find in gardening supplies) with no problem at all.
