fluidized bed reactors ???

Has anybody had and exprience with or heard of a fluidized bed reactor.It is used as an extremely effective medium for de-nitrification mainly used in the waste water industry and apparently used in the aquarium industry, It does sound very interesting.

I think it is a fairly new idea in the aquarium industry.

no not new, great to reduce ammonia to nitrite and then nitrite into nitrate, unfortunately it builds up nitrate quickly (much like a trickle filter). Great for fish only tanks, or raising fish like salmon, but with live rock/sand not needed.
