Fluidized Sand Bed Filter question?

No. As far as I know they don't have any Nitrate reduction capability. They are essentially a replacement for any other type of power filter you might have and will behave similarly. They are very efficient at converting Ammonia into Nitrite and Nitrite into Nitrate but that is where they stop. So not really the ideal option for a reef tank, but if you are running a fish only system without live rock they would be fine.

I had one on a freshwater tank but was never happy with the flow(my fault as I didn't have a strong enough pump for it.

It would not be for a reef tank. I want it to filter for growing of clownfish babies. Would it work for this? Thanks.

Yes it would work for that. It's a very efficient biological filter, but it won't control Nitrates or Phosphates so you'll have to control those with something else, either Water Changes or Chemical media like purigen or GFO or something similar.
