flukes in show tank

Just keep the water pristine and they will go away. If you can catch the fish I would do a freshwater dip. Tim

I heard it takes minimum of 2 weeks fallow to kill off flukes. You could just dose with prazipro, it is mostly reef safe, but will kill worms like feather dusters and possibly bristleworms etc. Is this a full blown reef, $ SPS corals etc?

i have prazipro ordered. no sps corals in my tank. i was planning on taking the fish to the QT tank for a couple of weeks and treat them w/ the prazipro.
i was hoping that the flukes would all die off in that period of time.
also water changes sucking water from sandbed to scrape up as many of the eggs as i could.

can last in the tank for as many as ~3 weeks also theres no way to tell where they are in their life cycle. you should Dip anything that u can fish and live rock. if u can isolate the tank for ~ 3 weeks the substrate will clear up...flutes life cycle goes from them in the substrate/rockwork-freeswimming-yourfishies.

freshwaterdip is best as it is an instant cure. flutes left unchecked can bore into a fish in under a weeks time. if your fish are healthy they will be fine esp if u can qt right after. then just wait it out 4-5 weeks to be on the safe side
