Flukes

My guys have flukes or some other external parasite.

I have added no new fish in months, now this. I'm going to treat with PRAZO. It has worked for me in the past on the few occasions when this problem has come into any of my tanks. I know that they are passed by physical contact, but how can I have this problem now?
My question is;
Where do they come from with no new fish? Do they lay eggs that may hatch at some much later point in time? Can they live dorment in frozen food?

This sure seems strange. :confused:

"œThe marine aquarium in theory and practice, second edition, revised"

This is one of the first books I purchased when I started keeping marine fishes. I wish I was able to find some of this detailed information in layman's terms, on-line but was unable.
The information in the link that you provided is technically over my head and probably most of us.
However, I was able to understand enough as I read all of it as I was able. This seems to confirm my simple knowledge of the problem I'm dealing with. The disease came on very fast.
It's coming down like a hurricane in severity within a matter of just a few days. I hope I didn't wait too long to stop it.
Anyway, thanks for the link, it seems to describe exactly what is going on here.
