Fluval 404 media w/10g?

We have a 10g tank going with 22lbs lr and a skilter (yes I know, no tomatoes please) it was the only filter we could fit due to where we set the tank up. Our CPR will not fit back there and we can't move the tank for at least 4-5 months.

SO, we want to hook up the Fluval but really only for circulation, we have large rocks in there that make putting in power heads a real pita.
I guess if power heads are a better idea we can do that, but I thought the Fluval would be easiest *blush*

If we hook up the Fluval what is the best thing to use media-wise?

THe only things in the tank are 1 Emerald Crab and 2 Turbos. The rocks are COVERED with little feathers, including a huge one that is BLACK and VERY sensitive to sounds.

Just use a powerhead like a MJ900 would be good.
If you really want to use the Fluval put rubble rock in it.
Change the skimmer to a Red Sea Prizm, they work well on 10"s.
I have two 10"s setup with that skimmer, they do work well if you know how to set them up.
Clowns would be real nice in that tank????

We had the Prizm on the tank but I could NOT get it adjusted properly.

The tank was new, could be part of the skimmer problem? Nothing to skim? I just remember getting up in the night to check on it and make sure it wasn't overflowing (which it did at least 2-3 times a week).:mad2:
Clowns would be great, my kids want "Nemo":D I'd personally just like to have corals or clams or really anything but fish.

Our Emerald Crab is my favorite thing, and we have a 55g FOWLR, but I could sit and watch the 10g for hours just to see all the neat things growing on the rocks.
