Fluval Edge - First Reef Tank

Hey Everyone. I have decided to jump into the hobby by starting with a nano reef tank. I have a 6 gallon Fluval Edge. I am cycling the live rock and sand at this moment. I also purchased the UltraBrite Reef LED System off eBay. I will document my setup as I go along. Still doing research in the different corals and other life I will add to it. I am open for suggestions and/or what not to do with my tank.

Nice setup. I was looking at the Ultrabrite set up. Are you using the 9 watt or 18 watt? Also any new pics or updates?

I was wondering how you justified an almost $200 dollar light system for something this small.

Serious question too...I am a noob and thinking of the Fluval as well.

@patricklong this hobby is a expensive hobby and depending on the live stock you want to keep the lights are one of the most important if not the most important (and expensive) equipment you need. So might as well spend the extra and get the best you can buy.

@animalhaven Tank looks clean man, I was debating between the fluval and the biocube and I was able to pick up a used bc14 with few mods less than the cost of a fluval. I will also have a tank thread going so when you have time check it out. Hope all goes well.

Ended up with the 18 watt Ultrabrite on my 12 gallon edge. Its a great system and I love the look of the spread. My corals are doing really well, added an clam sitting on the sand and she looks really happy. Gonna upload some pics asap:dance:
