On Tuesday, January 23rd at 7:15pm FMAS will be holding our general club meeting at New River Middle School (3100 Riverland Rd., Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33312) in the Library. The FMAS Frag Swap Meet Sponsored by Eco Reef Aquarium is scheduled for Sunday February 11th, and we thought that a good topic for the January meeting would be propogation techniques. At this meeting we will be showing how to frag corals including toadstool, xenia, acanthastrea, closed brain, and zoanthids. Propogation techniques will include cutting with razor blades, cutting with a dremel, sewing with needle and thread, and chopping to bits with a tile saw (my favorite ).
As usual we will be holding a livestock/equipment auction. Please bring any frags you may have to help the club out.
All club memberships expired on December 31, 2006. At this point everyone in the club needs to pay membership dues again. If you pay at the January meeting getting in the FMAS Frag Swap Meet Sponsored by Eco Reef Aquarium will be much less painful. The membership table will be set up and running by 6:30pm at the meeting. We encourage all to come early and sign up. Membership dues are $15 for individuals, $20 for families, and $25 for commercial folks (anyone who owns an aquarium related business or makes more than 50% of their income from the hobby).
