foam and bubbles got from collection cup

Sorry my title should be "foam and bubbles overflow from collection cup"

Hi,

So this is a new setup about 3 months and all suddenly the foam from collection in my skimmer over flow outside to sump. I clean the sump and do what ever but foam keep going out.

Now I turn the skimmer off and the chamber hold the drain from DT start making those foam and bubble.

any suggestion

Tell us a little more about your tank, how long has the skimmer been running, etc. Did you have your skimmer in the proper depth of water? Most have a small acceptable water depth range and if you put it in too deep it will not work properly. The foam itself will not harm your tank, the proteins were already in your tank before the skimmer pulled them out.

i think water level in the skimmer chamber is higher than it should be. that's why the skimmer is overflowing. or did you add something to the system that might make the skimmer "go crazy"?

The water level of the skimmer should be good because I base on manufacture guide.
Attach is picture of the skimmer run for 10 min.

It has to be something that got into the water. I would do a large water change and see if that helps.

Yeah if you can't move the strip put one of those plastic protectors (for kids) in the outlet and wrap it with black electrical tape.
