Foam in return section

As the title says, I have a thin layer of foam in the return section of my sump, my skimmer is working, pulling nice nog out. what would be a way to remedy this?

do you have anything causing movement on the water surface?

not in the return section due to the float switches for ATO

Being the low point in your system there isn't much you can do about it other than occasionally using a fine net to remove it. It isn't going to do any any harm to your system.
