Foam & Live Rock commbo

These days most people are using pond foam beckets makes some and its available at HD, but great stuff makes it as well as touch and foam. Touch and foam landscape foam is what I used mainly because it is $5 cheaper than beckets from HD. I found the touch and foam at a True Value hardware store they sold the brand but they had to special order the pond foam.

Here is a pic of the tank no water yet.

Could you do this with rock that is already in the tank without drying it out? I would prefer not to have to cure it again.

No I was gonna just let coralline algae cover the foam. If I put just wet towels on the live rock does anyone think it would last for 8-10 hours. Would it hurt my 75 gallon reef to put 4, 1 foot sections of dry rock and foam into my tank. Would it go through a cycling process? That's my biggest fear

I was told if you use beckets pond foam you won't need to use epoxy. That's an 8 hr dry time

One can go either way with pond foam, but one thing to keep in mind if you have crabs they will pick at the foam rock work. A coat of epoxy will help keep tiny pieces of foam out of your sump.

I have seen many mentions of this product -

Has anyone done this with existing live rock? I am trying to add a rock wall to established tank. I picked up a lunch of LR rubble, and have a lot of existing LR (some with corals, mostly softies/zoas). So i'm thinking maybe make a lot more "shelves" that I can put this existing stuff on once cured and ready for the tank? The LR rubble is a little damp, is that going to stop the great stuff pond foam from curing properly?
My LR wall is also a partition for a seahorse area so going to try to build in some poles for them to latch on to. They will be separate enough where they wont need to compete for food - will be great if it works out!

Has anyone noticed a breakdown in the epoxy? I'm guessing it's the areas that I applied to thin of a coat. I'm thinking about draining and re-coating those areas..

Love this idea and I have been looking for more information I am doing a 270 gallon saltwater tank. Updates please from anyone who used this application on how their materials are holding up. Also my concern is water flow behind the structure...are you having a build up of algae? Any input is greatly appreciated!!
