I'm setting up a 215g tank. My house is on a slab with tile on the floor and there is a slight pitch. Is there a way I should level the tank? does it have to be perfect? And why do people put foam under the tank?
Thanks in advance

Shim the base of the stand to get it as close as possible. THe tank will look better and will help to equalize pressure on all walls. The insulation board (foam) eliminates imperfections in the stand that could create a pressure point on the tank. Construct your tank with this thought in mind "I need to support a small fragile car on 15 - 20 square feet of floor.

Thanks, I guess they sell the foam at home depot or lowes. Do you think the foam is necessary for a stand purchased from oceanic? if so is there any particular way to put the foam down so you dont' see it?
Thanks again

Most any lumber yard carries 3/4" insulation. I just bought it this weekend for my tank. As for your stand, I have no idea. If your tank was made for you, I would ask the manufactuer for his suggestion. I am building up the moulding to hide the lower 2-3" of the tank, but I have a home made stand.
