Foam under tank?

Not new to the hobby, but new to a "larger" sized tank.

The tank is custom built a 72x24x15 rimless with bottom trim/brace.

I see people are throwing their tanks on foam...

From what I understand this is to help weight distribution and help relieve pressure points due to irregularities.

To me this sounds swell, but I see some people are conflicted which makes me confused.

Is there a reason not to?

I guess I can ask the tank manufacturer as well...

Let me know what you think.

If you have trim on the bottom of the tank do not use foam. Foam is only intended for tanks that have no bottom trim and rest flat on the bottom pane of glass.
