What sort of food does he/she want?
Well, my G. Viridis seems to prefer snails over everything else. He has only eaten a few of the smallest hermits, occassionally takes frozen/thawed shrimp that I offer (just as often throwing it out , which the myriad of worms love, as well as the hermits that SHOULD HAVE BEEN food themselves.
My two new Mantis Shrimp are still geeting used to their habitats and their new diets.
they were fed snails at the LFS, with the Platysoma having what looked to be a half eaten cooked shrimp in his little container as well.
So far, the Platy is the finnikiest, eating a small piece of silverside fish, then refusing another small piece later.
He also threw an offerd piece of shrimp away in disgust. I pushed snails towards him, which he threw back. that was yesterday, when I turned on his light this morning, there was a pile of snail shell, so he eats them, at least/
te Ternatensis is a voracious eater. She has scarfed 3 snials in 2 days, as well as offered shrimp and silverside. I don't think the LFS fed her as much as she needed, as she has been going for everything I have offered, although I am careful to offer small amounts, so as to not create excess waste.
It is very important that you not leave a bunch of uneaten food in there, as the animals who usually clean up such are themselves food in a mantis Aquarium, and one can hardly expect a hermit to finish off some leftovers when he is himself said meal.
Hope that helped a bit.
Yours should be fine, as the pretty much all like snails, from what I have heard/read (I am no expert, though), and most will eat hermits as well.
When he is hungry, he will probably eat what he feels like.
Sounds like a Grade A Vegas All-you-Can-Eat-Buffet you have for him in there.Well, Vegas might be only Grade C, but still...
