It looks like an LPS, possibly a torch coral or elegance coral.
I'll start by saying that with good light, you'll be ok without direct feedings. However, it will certainly grow faster with some food.
Brine shrimp aren't supposed to have much nutritional value. I feed my LPS corals (I only have 2) frozen mysis shrimp, which I buy at the LFS. Something like this.
The type I buy is already in small cubes. I defrost some and put a couple of shrimp on each head of the coral. You can lay it on top or gently push it down a bit. The biggest problem I have is my cleaner shrimp coming by and trying to steal the shrimp before the coral starts to ingest it. I feed about 2 times per week, but I don't know if there is a recommended frequency.
