Food Question

Hello. What does everyone feed there seahorses? I currently have 3 cb seahorses. I currently feed mine mysis and brine with selco added to it. I am wanting to add more to their diet so i thought i would see what everyone else feeds theres. Mine are either kuda or reidi (?).
Thanks

I feed mine PE mysis alternating with Hikari. I feed mine HUFA and spirulina enriched brine once a week. Many recommend a day of fast to prevent fatty liver disease - so on my "fast day" - they get the enriched brine.

I alternate enrichments as well - vibrance 2, beta glucan, garlic, Boyd's vitachem, HW Marin-vit.

Hikari mysis is the staple, but I also try to feed hikari plankton (small krill) to those seahorses that will take it once or twice a week. They don't seem to like it as much, but I'm a firm believer that variety is the key to a successful diet. I do also feed enriched brine whenever I think about it. I enrich with algamac 2000 and whatever else I might have on hand.

Unfortunately PE mysis isnt available in my area. This is why I feed mine the omega-3 brine shrimp high in hufas and the mysis. I was wanting to add more to their diet.

Where would be a good site to order the PE mysis from? Only have ordered frozen food one time from offline and when it arrived to me it was warm. It was a frozen liquid food i ordered though and not food like brine or mysis.

Thanks for the link. I didnt know about the website. There are no dealers listed for SC but i see one close to me in Ga. That is if Jerry at the shop still carries it. I also see where there is a link to click on to place an order. Thanks again.

Don't hesitate to feed Hikari mysis if PE isn't available in your area. In fact, the last talk by Todd Gardner at IMAC suggests that PE mysis may cause problems with breeding and survival in seahorse fry. The reason most likely is that it is freshwater based, and while it makes seahorses good and fat, it may make them too fat. Hikari is know to at least use some saltwater mysis; though I'm not sure there is any way to tell what is and what isn't.
