"Food Timer" Option Not Working

One year ago I purchased a 6100 (Driver: 7240-26) with the single-controller (7091). The feeding delay worked fine...the pump stopped completely during feeding.

I just purchased a second 6100 (Driver: 7240-27) and added to the single controller with Y-adapter 7092-34. The feeding delay does not work with both 6100's plugged in...either 6100 on its own through the Y-adadpter will result in the pump stopping completely during the feeding delay...with both plugged in, the pumps stop during the "power 1" phase but then start during the "power 2" phase...they do not appear to be operating at full capacity, but are generating a significant flow that is not desired during feeding...they also "clunk" quite loudly when they kick in which causes concern with respect to premature wear/failure of the pumps...if the "power 2" level is dialled down quite a bit, the problem appears to disappear as the pumps don't come on during "power" 2, but I do not want to have to adjust this every time I feed, and then remember to turn the dial back up.

What can be done to solve this problem? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I should add that I also purchased the photo cell last year and could never get this to work with my single controller...as it was not that important, I just discontinued use of the phot-cell...but with this new problem, I wonder whether I have a faulty controller...

Cheers.

First the 7240.27 driver is supposed to turn the pump once every 20 seconds. If it is more flow than this the more likely culprit is the branch adapter which can sometimes make an interfering signal and cause unusual problems. As for the photocell I would make sure it is firmly plugged in, they are sometimes difficult to plug in and you really have to push hard. I would also disconnect both pumps from power after hoooking everything up and see if just resetting everything helps.

Thank you for your reply.

Does the statement "turning the pump" mean reversing direction?

I have already unplugged everything several times over the last two weeks trying to assess and rectify this problem. It continues and is unacceptable. What should I do? I have spent a considerable amount of money for this Tunze set-up which appears to not function as designed.

Same analyis for the photo cell...I tried many times to get it to work and have no hesitation stating that it was pushed in tight enough. I also cleaned the connection area. The phot cell simply will not work as designed and for the purpose for which it was purchased. As the photo cell was not expensive and I was not overly concerned about its lack of function, I did not pursue that issue further. I am very concerned about the two pumps during the feeding delay as they make a loud clunk/click noise as they cycle on. I do not want to (and suggest should not be required to) adjust manually every time I feed.

The combination of the two problems leads to my (electronically uneducated) conclusion that the controller is malfunctioning, due to some form of flaw flaw or programming issue. The photo cell malfunction predates the adition of the Y-adapter.

I await your further assistance/direction.

Thanks.

Send me the single controller with the photocell and I will start their. I can only tell you though that the branch adapter is the usual cause of these problems when you have two pumps and they work fine without the branch adapter. At any rate we can resolve the night mode issue.

I would expect some noise when the pumps start. The pump with the 7240.27 driver will turn one rpm every 20 seconds in food timer mode, it should be impossible for the pump to spin backwards.
