Hi I have started dosing MB7 yesterday. Today I have notice a biofilm all over the sand bed, the sand used to be white and now its a kind of rust/brown look. So, the biofilm is expected to happen and it will vanish soom? Anything I should do?

Cyano can be a result of MB7 dosing.

-Check your flow across sand.
-Siphon it out, water change, etc (look up cyano).
-Make sure skimmer is working very well to pull the bacteria out.
-Don't overdose.

You dont need to use biofuel with MB7.

I see this all the time when thay use MB7 alone and it always results in this . Had a friend that had this same problem to him to use biofuel with it and never had this problem again . Biofuel help stables the mb7 when dosed together. like dosing volka its will fuel the bacteria but wont keep it in check. And the biofuel inhanses the skimmer as well

thanks guys..

I dosed 25 drops to start in my 40g. It's less than the recommended dose. Maybe as I already used to dose bio digest it was to much for my tank. I'll quit it for a while than get back with a minimum dose.

If you tank is new then your dose of 25 drops could be ok, if your talking about a setup that has been running a while the dose should depend on your nutrient lvl, or nitrates 25 drops in that size tank is way to much read the label again

The direction are kind of hard to understand and it gives you 2 methods 1 for new/high nutrient tanks and one for low nutrient tanks. I am dosing 2mls daily with vodka. Dont know if it is to much or not enough.

I think MB7 should be used with BioFuel or some other carbon source.
MB7 is bacteria, which needs carbon to process phosphates and nitrates. Not sure what happens to the bacteria without carbon. There might not be enough in tank if none is being added...
EDIT: forgot to mention I dose BioFuel/MB7 according to "High" recommendations. Didn't have any strange effects. PO4 dropped to 0 within 1 day.

IMO Brightwell could have done a more simplified directions to use. They have the basic guide, advanced, high nutrient, low nutrient and also they have a manual sugesting a completely different dosage... If you can afford, go Zeovit.

Sorry, but MB7 doesn't have Basic nor Advanced, only High, Medium and low nutritient.
You have mistaken with other products where they have Basic and Advanced dosage. People who just started reefing choose Basic. Advanced is for daily dosing and/or people who have dosing pumps.
