Well, it looks like I am going to have to sell this set up I got. Due to the lack of a good filtration as some of you may know. I lost several fish last night. My Prize fish!!! And It has come to my realization that the orlando forum isn't quite as kind to eachother as the Tampa forum. I can't always just drive to Tampa to find what I need. With the exception of a few of you. Thank you to those that have helped me out. And my fiance is tired of me always talking about, messing with, and just enjoying my tank. So I am just going to get rid of the head ache all together.

For Sale...

70Gal tall. Non-drilled.
some nice corals.
few fish left.
custom 40" tall stand
192W PC lights.

PM or email me for any questions.
venom00viper@yahoo.com
Prices yet to be determined.

Can part out but wouldn't mind selling the whole thing.
Thanks for looking.

I'm sorry to hear that your wife feels that way about the hobby and I'm sorry you feel that way about our forum. Personally, after over two years on this site and a year on the club's board, there is not a forum I would rather be a part of. Yes, there sometimes is some bickering and yes sometimes conversations get heated. Not everyone has the same opinions and sometimes people go a little too far to the point of offensive. However, I've seen that everywhere on forums where there is disagreement or where misinformation is given by someone unqualified to give it.

Have you been to an ORCA meeting before? They are so much fun and the people that are part of the club are very helpful, happy to lend a hand, and many of whom are extremely informative. I am truely sorry to hear about the losses. I hope you know that there are people that can help you, there is also a mentor program through ORCA that can listen to troubles and try to help solve them.

The road to a stable and healthy tank is time, patience, a good deal of money, and a lot of heartache. As many wise reefers quote, "Nothing good in a reef tank happens in a day. Only disasters can happen in a day." I take this to heart every time a crap-out has occurred or wondering why a coral won't grow. I've realized that it does get easier.

If you've already made up your mind, I wish you the best of luck with whatever adventures lie ahead. It will probably help sales if you mentioned the types of fish/coral, sizes, overall condition, price, and preferably a photo.

I will try to get some pics up soon. I have been to an orca meeting. Those are the people that are a pleasure to be around. this is why they come out. The others that are not so enjoyable don't want to meet everyone. But I just get a different vibe from the tampa forum. Thank everyone. It has been fun. email me if you have any questions. Thanks again.

I am sorry this didn't work out for you.
I don't have a sump, but I do have a few Whisper HOB filters I will give you. It is at least some kind of filtration.
But if you have made up your mind, and still want to get rid of everything, I might be interested in the corals you have.
Can you please either PM or email me at lbcelectric@yahoo.com with a list ,and pics if possible.
Sorry to hear you will be leaving the hobby.

yes the canopy will go too. Paul has done a great job making this tank look great. Thanks! Let me think about a complete price. And anyones input is welcome. I havn't a clue. Thanks.

Hi Ben,

I was in the same boat too. I was spending too much time and money on the tank and hobby and my wife hated it! I just had to get her more interested in it so I had her pick out her favorite fish...the porcupine puffer. Luckily I used it as an excuse to get a bigger tank (still not sure how I pulled that one off). Anyway I cant buy the stuff I really want like a calcium reactor, controllers, etc. But I found a way to get her more involved so I could keep the tank. If you dont have the support of your fiance then its almost doomed from the start since the hobby is so expensive. Maybe you can compromise and do a fish only tank? My wife ignores the tank a lot but when company comes over she always shows it to them.

I dunno how great the tampa forum is but there has been so many people that helped me over the past couple years on RC and the orlando threads and especially the local fish stores here. But there are some idiots out there that pretend they know what they are talking about so it doesnt surpise me that you like tampa better. Either way I hope you can come back to the hobby one day and can enjoy it. I definitely look at my tank more than I watch TV.

Good luck with the sale,
Tom

I think one of the reasons the tampa forum seems more peaceful, is because its not as big as orca, and most of the people on the Tampa forum have met each other. It is way easier to understand where someone is coming from when you have actually met the person, ie at a club meeting.

Being a new member on here myself, I have become offended by several people's posts, but then again in a different thread that person may be the one who has helped me the most. I think everyone in orca is willing to help one another as much as any other group, maybe just not quite so easy on the new guys.

I have been able to meet several people that are in orca, and here in the forum, and it seems once you actually meet some of the people, they are so nice you'd swear your their best freind.

Maybe there needs to be more of introducing new members, and really helping get people aquainted going on at the meetings, just a suggestion.

I have seen quite a few posts you have made that have been very informative, and I think you will be missed.
