I have a sweet little scooter blenny that needs a new home. Ok people dont flame me, ya hear?! When I got him, I didnt know and wasnt told that he pretty much only eats pods. Well, my pod population isnt large enough for this little dude, and I dont want him to starve. He is already skinny enough. I have had offers to give him a temp home in a fuge and fatten him up, but I dont want to stress him out by moving him, and then bring him back here with no food. If any of you want to see a pic, I can post one tomorrow.

Thanks, Becca

I have a 55g that is around 4 months old that I have been breeding pods in a fuge for just such a fish.

My original intention was to put a mandarin in in the summer time but if you'd be comfortable with him in a set up like this I'd be interested to see how he (or she) would do.. I have pods crawling everywhere and they have stayed pretty stable. I feed phycopure every few days intermittently with coral vibrance for my SPS.

My other tank inhabitants are a midas blenny, foxface, a pair of clownfish, a little ascension goby.. nothing aggresive or predatory.

Let me know if I can be of service I'd love to give the little guy a fighting chance :)

Christie, I would only worry about him with the midas. I've seen them get a little bit more agressive when they get bigger. Otherwise your setup sounds really good.

Percfreak, he will only eat live brine and pods that we can tell.

We have fed him live brine. BUT he ate it one day and wouldnt touch it the next.

chrisstie, that sounds wonderful!!!

No, no flames...I think it is a noble act to get rid of a fish that means a lot to you if you are not able to care for it the way it needs and deserves. Many LFS's will conveniently leave out the fact that dragonettes can starve without proper nutrition and I think it is kind of sad. I say thanks for caring about the animal and I'm sure the blenny would thank you too.

If I took in the scooter I would forego a mandarin and just havet he scooter in the tank.

Do you have pics? I'm curious if its the normal color or the red color? And also are you looking for anything in particular I could trade you?

He is not red, he is black. I'm going to answer for her and say any sort of softie. She is really more concerned with making sure he gets a good home than anything.

No problem... I think its a she.. so far anyway, still seems small and possibly immature.

"Oreo" as we now call her\him\it is doing great so far scooting around and picking at pods all day. I will have to take video of her doing this but she loves to hide out in the parts of my tank where I haven't done a good scraping job of that hard green stuff that grows down by the sand bed. Smart fish hehe :)

Don't forget to send me a pic of that frogspawn ;p
