Home Depot: Your encrusting (coral) is coming back to life, slowly. And my tanks have flatworms now. I'd like this one as my rent money. If it survives and does well, you can have a piece later.

I have some pretty cool zoas that are looking good for trade/sale if anyone is interested?? I'll post pics in a bit. But I have flatworms. Check you tanks if you have been trading corals amongst yourselves. You may have them too.

I have flatworm exit left over from when I had them , it works pretty well and I've never had a problem using it. You may have to do it a couple times though. Mine only got bad in one tank, couldn't even find them in the other two. I just can't stand looking at them. If you want to borrow it let me know, I have no use for it now. Let's see them zoos though, I think my big colony of pink ones just went down the tube and they are my favorite.

I went through flatworms once. They sucked...

I'd like to see pics of the zoanthids too though... Hmm, I HAD a bottle of FE around, but its probably WAY outdated. I'd send it to ya.

Totally forgot to post pics... Sorry. Here they are...

**Now, keep in mind, I am battling a little hair algae and my zoas are not priority one***

Them Purple ones are the ones you got from me right!!

To be honest, I don't remember where I got any of them... No offense, but this is one guy that could live without zoas!! I bet once you guys get but by the SPS bug, you'll never look at any other corals the same.

Swan and Blennie, I am open to trades!! Zoas and mushies are low priority for me. Actually, they act as a barometer. When they are open wide, my params must be fine. When they are closed, something is going on and that is when I test!! So maybe they aren't as worthless as I make them out to be.

WAIT until you see those same zoas under just the actinics!! WOW!! Pics coming later. I am dripping kalk 24/7, and working on my Ca, Mg, and Alk levels, in an effort to combat my HA (Hair Algae).

well, I got nuttin for trades, although I am starting to look up how to prop the bubble coral (yea yea pics pics) but it seems fairly complex and complicated.

I cut a moon brain in two using a tile saw (wet saw) and thought I killed it. It came back, but was never the same. There are so,me corals that I just wouldn't mess with. That is why SPS are so appealing, VERY easy to frag and mount.

I know, I was reading up on it. It sounds pretty complicated, and after 15 minutes of work, it takes about 3 weeks to finish the split! JEEZ

using a dremel that has a wide V shape, you make a 5 mm line in the base, not touching the actual flesh.
Then you slowly start at the very bottom and drill into it using that and a smaller drill, to a certain point (sorry, lost the page, so this is by memory)

At that point, you use a wedge and VERY MICROSCOPICALLY push the wedge in until you hear a heart-wrenching snap (added that part-the author said its scary the first few times you hear it)

You then add a smaller wedge to keep the 2 halves apart, and put it back in the tank, with one half lower by as far as the flesh will let it go.

During the next few days/weeks you slowly put in larger wedges until it v's and splits.

heres the page its off of. http://www.garf.org/news10p3.html

found it AFTER I wrote that.

yeah that is pretty wild. I guess i could see how it would work, but it only has one mouth, so does it state that it will regrow a mouth on both sides as it falls of. Seems extremely risky.

I think that since your splitting it where the mouth is, that it would divide-kinda like an anemone, with each half taking a half of the mouth.
