ok.. so some of you may see some posts I put up with microscope pics of attacks by some bad guys in my tank.. I pulled all my sps out.. left with now about 20 wrasses and some angels. Tank has for sure ICK. might have some other nasty stuff like velvet or ureaua. Question..

what can I dose in tank med wise to resolve the issues. can I use rid-ick. or other products with formalin?

Or am I doomed later to never put in sps.. I will not use cupermine in the DT as I have heard it will remain present in the rock and sand.

I already am weighing the option of pulling the angels out. the wrasses seem to be ok.. angels eating buy not looking great.. fade out appearance and breathing to heavy..

thinking it was ick I was doing a TTM on the female scribble.

here is a pic of her.

thanks

Looks like either brook or velvet. I personally would not dose formalin in a DT as it will kill pretty much everything, including your biofilter. Best to pull out the angels and treat in a HT with formalin dips followed by transfers into a clean HT.

well, how long has it been like that? If it was velvet or brook, won't it be too late already? Also, isn't it best to do dips rather than long term, sustained treatments with it? The Formalin MS states you can do a long term bath but at a much lower concentration vs. the dip amount.

this female scribble has looked like this on and off for a few weeks.. and is hungry and eating.. I have confirmed ick in the tank. but looks like might have some other issues.

short on a long story is I did hypo on my tank DT... killed a lot of algea and ammonia spiked.. between all that lost a lot of fish.. get the tank settled a bit and am holding it at 10.14 mild hypo..

but yesterday noticed this issue again.. gave her a bath in fresh water yesterday for 6 min.. then in a Hospital tank. 15 gallon doing a TTM on her.. will give her a long term bath tonight in acriflavin and merthalyne blue ..

Problem is I have a male scribble and fax face in the main tank doing some heavy breathing.. along with twitching of the head.. yet all are eating .. go figure..

mystery...
