Formalin

Can someone tell me where I can get Formalin around here?

One of my clowns isn't looking too good right now. It's not ich...but has something going on with between his gill and mouth...turning white and puffy looks like it's almost decomposing. From what I've been able to read...a formalin dip treats a variety of infections. Other clown and fish are eating and doing very well. So, off to hospital tank he goes. But would like to treat him since it seems he may not be able to fight this off on his own.

RJ - I've got a good bit of Kordon's Rid-Ich+ that you are welcome to. It works great on Ich, but I don't know if it's reef safe. But in a hospital tank - depending on the tank - that might not matter.

It's a mix of formalin (Formaldehyde) and malachite green salts. Seems to work better than formalin alone.
