Found a Griffis Angel thru my LFS...Should I consider it?

So, to sum up a big post, pretty much the answer would be, no you would not buy the fish and you would pass on it, because you would be afraid of loosing a [relatively] small investment.

I would not buy the fish because the odds of success are near zero. If the LFS wants to share that risk, perhaps, but only if it were a fish I had to have.

Its a while seen i have seen somebody write automobile instead of car,and i think its unfair to compare cars and fish in that way regarding warranties:beer:Being nossy what do you drive:beer:
john

Actually I was not making that comparison. What I drive is what I drive.

Are you still thinking in terms of a Pencil Wrasse when you say this, or are you blanket stating, that all LFS fish (or atleast the touchy ones), have an odds of living of Zero?

If that is the case. That you have had zero success with LFS fish, I would seriously look at what you are doing, between getting the fish in a bag, and putting it in your display.

griffis do really well when adapted. more than likely it will be 5"+. the smallest one i have ever seen was 3"... and it was super awesome!

i personally, think griffisi are rather ugly and clumsy looking, especially when they get big (which they do!!!) ... but they have this weird appeal to them... lol one of those fish i guess..

But when they say unknown price and size, 99% it will be 6" and atleast 450$ minimum.

Pac, thanks for the insight. Im leaning toward the juvi blueline but i never say never when it comes to looking at a rare and unusual specimen.

I was referring to the fish you were discussing; I don't mind trying difficult fish but that one has very little chance of long term success. Actually I have been doing this for 20 years with pretty good success. But the original poster is correct, it has nothing to do with his post.

Griffis do well once acclimated. An interesting fish worthy of trying. Be sure to deworm (but you probably already know that)

I think its a good idea to deworm just about all fish in QT. Prazipro, and similar products, are very safe & effective.
