Found Baby Bangaii

I have only once before seen a tiny, size of a needle head, baby bangaii before and at that same moment of discovery, he was eaten.

I have just discovered another baby bangaii, but he is in my fuge and is larger, maybe a bit bigger than 1/4", maybe the size of a dime.

I assume if he has grown this big in the fuge, he is finding all the food he needs. With that said, my intention is simply to leave him in the fuge. I feel at his present size, he may still be at risk for being eaten in the main tank. What do you all think?

Cool. You should try feeding it in the fuge. Don't put it in the main tank until it's bigger. Bigger is defined by what's in the main tank and how big their mouths are. 1/4" still seems like fish food. Dime is much larger, 0.7 inches. Are you talking body only or head to end of tail?

If you tape a dime to the front of the fuge and then take a pic when the little fellow is close to it you can get an accurate estimate of size.

I figured its 4x the size of the first bangaii cardinal i saw in my tank three years ago. So it must have grown, which means it must have eaten food in the fuge...I would think if it were going to find food, that would be a good place. Food that is in the main tank whisks away down the overflow and has a 50/50 chance of heading to the fuge...I did just today add oyster eggs and marine fusion to the fuge directly...if he continues to grow, I will add him.

size includes fins...you can see him in the picture...
