Found Eggs need Rotifers

My Nigripes pair are soon to be parents but if I dont find any rotifers then it may be too late for this batch. Any suggestions?

I have a suggestion.... sell me your pair so I can try my hand at raising them :-) But seriously, there is a place in Florida called http://www.florida-aqua-farms.com , which sells rotifers by the quart and is owned by Hoff, which wrote the original clownfish breeding book many years ago. They sell all the algae and rotifers cultures you may need. If you ever would like to sell the pair though... or give away batches of fry, let me know ;-)

I would let this batch go, get yourself organized for the next nest. Beef-up the parents' diet with cyclop-eze (if you're not already) ,,, improved diet made a big difference with the quality of my Occ eggs & fry.

There are a few places online that will get you rotifers quickly, however, having ordered from all of them at one point or another, I found the rotifers from aquaticeco.com were the best value for money, by a long way,, I got 5 times more rotifers per dollar than everywhere else. Some well-known retailers (no names) sent LAUGHABLE numbers per litre compared to what I got from Aquatic Eco.

Their customer service is also unequalled IMO,,, I ordered some rotifers and they arrived a day late,, I lost a lot of fry,,, I complained,, and they comp'd me the entire order,,, including shipping,,,which cost them over $100 to keep a first-time customers happy. Pretty impressive.

They don't offer rotifers overnight any more,, but I'd still buy them there if I needed some,, I'd just have to order 4 or 5 days in advance.

Good luck with them,, not many folk are tank-raising nigripes because of their very slow growth-rate.

Did you take any pics of the nest?

Thanks for the suggestions and tips guys. I think I will run to Aquatic Eco and pick some up. I still have a lot of reading to do on the subject. The eggs caught me off guard because I just paired these fish up only a couple of months ago. Not sure if I am ready for it yet. As for pics I will try to take some...I tried yesterday but I couldnt get the camera to focus on the eggs.

You can't pick them up from Aquatic Eco, they are shipped from out of state,, I can't remember where exactly.

This and the fact that they are almost impossible to find...

Get Joyce Wilkerson's Clownfishes...this is still considered the breeding bible. rareclownfish.com is another great place.
