Found this with my zoas

I found this on my Zoa rock that I've had for at least 6 months. I looks sorta like an anemone, but I posted it on this forum since it was found with zoas. It has tentacles and a mouth. Looks nice.

Any ideas?

I dont know what it is, but I would kill it. Better safe than sorry when it comes to potential nuisance nems.

I've had majano before... but not this color. Perhaps it's a plate coral. I'll have to see if it retracts into a skeleton like a fungia or just curls up like a nuisance anemone.

When I started my tank for the first time I had a piece of live rock with a plate coral like that embedded into the rock. The skeleton would grow out of the rock and then once it got big enough I could just knock it off with almost no effort and since it was emended in the rock it would just start a new one like the day I got it. I probably had 4 or five of them at the same time

Fungia plate coral. I have 2 plates and a tongue that came off live rock and zoa rocks like yours. If you're lucky, it will grow to about the size of a half dollar and detach, then a new one will grow from the "stalk". I got about half a dozen tongue coral that way from a piece of live rock...still have one after more than 10 years. Yours plate looks like it is going to be nicer than mine.
