Please comment on these pictures so that I can hopefully shoot better ones.

Thanks!

Yes, it is a Yellow Wrasse: Halichoeres chrysus.

(Recommended by Michael Paletta in his book as one of the best 24 species for beginners)

Thanks all for the nice comments...

The peppermint shrimp is a very secretive animal and I have been very lucky to catch it when it was wandering around the tank in full light!

Here are four more shots, all taken tonight.

I highly recommend you resize your images or at least "save for web" - downloading each image at ~1197093 bytes is a bummer. I'm still waiting to see the last picture.

Hey, nice shot. :)

This page doesn't have to be 8 megs. It should be more like .8 of a meg total. Please don't be offended, this is merely a suggestion. Keep shooting, as you'll get better and better. I like the picture with the firefish in focus from this set.

Wow. Great pictures. You must have been practicing. I have that same yellow wrasse, so I know how quick they can be.

What kind of settings or equipment do you use?

Melev: I know my pictures are a bit heavy to post on the web but smaller sizes are, I believe, too small. I will look into better compression settings, hopefully that will help.

Funkyman: I have a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT and I just bought a tripod. I often use the lazy "point and shoot" mode of the camera: No flash preset and auto-focus.
