FOWLR Tank Turnover

For a FOWLR tank, what kind of turnover should I be looking at?

For a 110-120g tank, if i have 1000 gph (give or take0 going to the sump and pushed back into the tank, would that suffice, or is that too much? Or is it too little?

Most of us run between 4-8 times the display through the sump for all types of systems. For a fish only tank I would look for a total of about 20 times the DT combinibg the water flow from your sump after head pressure loss and powerheads which provide the balance of the flow needed. For your tank shoot for around 2400 GPH.

Wow, 2400? With that much going into the sump, would the protein skimmer be able to keep up?

System will include a 40 gallon breeder sump.

2400 gph seems a bit high.

I am running about 1000 gph to my display, if not less. I rely on my powerheads for additional turnover running 3 x 2000 gph ones.

A total flow of 2400 GPH for a 120 gallon tank. Only 500-900 gph would be through the sump, the rest with powerheads.

Oh ok. I'm looking at doing the beananimal overflow, so I figure 1,000 gph to the sump, and 1 or 2 Jebao powerheads in there. I would do a flow based on a closed loop but I honestly don't know enough about it...but I do like the clean look of nothing on the sides of the tank.
