The Tobacco Basslet wouldnt stand a chance. The lobster would proboly get picked off as well by the triggers. Depending on the size of the leaf fish, he could get picked on as well

the lobster will get to be 14" he should be fine. i will consider not getting the leaf fish a basset. thanks for the reply.

I would think the puffer would nip at the lobster as well, And being that it already 14inch thats a lot of space taken up just by him.

+1 Triggers and puffer will try to eat the lobster all day. My old roommate put a big 8" lobster in his fowlr that was mostly triggers with a huge stars and stripes puffer, that thing was demolished the next morning.

Good advice so far. I'd be concerned with keeping Thalassoma wrasses, esp. the banana wrasse with a toby or any smaller fish. IME, they get large and aggressive. I actually had a banana wrasse harass a dwarf lion to the point of stress and starvation.

FWIW, leaf scorps are hard to wean off of live foods (if you can wean them at all) and it would never, EVER be able to compete for food in an aggressive setup with larger fish.

revised list

Humu Picasso Triggerfish (Rhinecanthus aculeatus)
Niger Triggerfish (Odonus niger)
Chain Eel (Echidna catenata)
Red Diana Hogfish (Bodianus diana)
Pinkface Wrasse (Thalassoma quinquevittatum)
Banana Wrasse (Thalassoma lutescens)
Columbian Shark (Arius jordani) proporly acclimated to salt water

just for thought most wrasse dont like other wrasse and depending on what size the niger is at purchase they can take some time to grow as well as a small huma lets ask the question as to what is your goal with the tank you are setting up?

As far as sharks go, even the smallest species require a bare minimum of 300 gals, with a large footprint and lots of open substrate.

Isn't that a FW fish???

PetSmart sells them as a FW fish but technically their brackish. To really see their potential, like monos, they do best in full SW as adults. My LFS had a huge one that was adapted to full SW and was living in a 75-gallon tank with nitrates off the chart!

no shark should be in a 180, sure it's big, but the actual space it uses, the bottom of the tank, isn't really big enough..

well ive been thinking and heres my new list. its going to be a 240 gallon not 150

Saddleback Butterflyfish (Chaetodon ephippium)
Blood Red Hawkfish (Cirrhitops fasciatus)
Immaculatus Puffer (Arothron immaculatus)
Powder Brown Tang (Acanthurus japonicus)
Humu Picasso Triggerfish (Rhinecanthus aculeatus)
Columbian Shark (Arius jordani) catfish
and 2 of these i will have to decide
Banana Wrasse (Thalassoma lutescens)
Harlequin Tusk (Choerodon fasciatus)
Pinkface Wrasse (Thalassoma quinquevittatum)

what do you think?
