Fox Coral, bleached.

I bought a fox coral at Christmas time. It was so pretty! AND it was a great deal, only $40 for a huge piece. Here's a pic of it when I first got it.

After a few months, I was looking through som pictures that I had taken of my tank. Then I went into shock ! My fox coral didn't look that colour anymore! It was MUCH lighter in colour, it was bleaching out. I didn't notice this was happeneing because it was such a gradual process.

It was getting too much light. So I did some rearanging in my tank, and placed it down below, shaded in a cave. Here is a pic of it right after I moved it to it's no home. It's not fully extended, but it gives you the idea of what colour it was.

It's been almost three weeks since I moved it, and I'm happy to report that it's colouring up, slowly but surely, it'll be back to normal. Here is a pic that I took of it last night.

it looked pretty rough.

It was still fully expanding (which I was surprised to see), it looks rough in the third picture because I had just moved it and disturbed it. It took me a while to fit it in that cave for it to have enough room to expand.

You can see a small glass that I placed just behind it and to the left. It was also getting too much flow from the powerhead that's hidden behind the rocks. I dind't have a small enough piece of rock to block the flow, so a glass had to do, until I could grab a piece of rock that would fit from a friend.
