Fox Coral fading out !!!

Okay so the addition of a Fox Coral to a 90 gallon RR system went well. The canopy has T-5 bulbs in it, an in-sump PS and yet the Fox looks like it's fading out white and losing its color.

Its in a low flow area and I'm just wondering what might be going wrong ??

p.s. This isn't my system.....I am checking on this for someone else !

Any ideas folks ?

Those fox corals have always been tricky for me. Beautifull coral. I just can't seem to get it right.

Wish I could help you. Somebody should chime in here soon.

Probably need to try shading it. T5 can be pretty bright.

I had one that started to turn pale until I moved it to a bottom corner of the tank. After it recovered there for about six months, I moved it to mid tank under the shade of a large birdsnest. Doing fine now.

They are a pretty low light coral, probably way too much light for it, try shading it in a cave for a while and see if it helps.

Thanks for the replies guys! The question was asked on my behalf.

It's funny that it's bleaching out though. In Eric Borneman's book, it says that if it's stronger light, it'll actually get Darker, not lighter.

But I'll move it down in my tank, and see how it recovers. I've also tried feeding it severl times, but since it doesn't have feeder tentacles, it never seems to eat anything...
