Can anybody tell me if they have had any problems with these fish in a reef tank, i think i read some where that it is hit or miss with them? A co-worker is breaking down his 55 gal and selling everything off.
I had a foxface in my 180 reef and he did great. I also had a Coral Beauty angel and he also did good , I had NO probs with them at all, Thats my experiance with them ohh and I also kept them well fed so that helps
No that I dont sorry, you can check websites and they usually tell you BUT they usually give you different info at different sites!! Which really makes learning harder!! Maybe someone else can chime in on that.
We go off of Marine Fishes pocket Expert Guide by Scott W. Micheal. He says coral beaty min size 30 gal and a foxface min 75 gal. and they reef safe. Any book will tell you something differ.
I just looked at live aquiaand they said the same thing on tank size but said semi agressive and could eat corals. Too bad i could have got both of them for 50 bucks. If anybody else is interested let me know i can get you in touch with this guy. I also know he has two clowns and some sort of a drawf puffer he wants to sell along with a 55 gal tank and stand and all the other stuff he has.
I have both in my 200 and havent had any problems. Many people say the coral beauty can be 50/50 but i have read more on people having success with them than not. I have never heard bad things about foxfaces.
Well my tank is not large enough for the foxface (47 gal) and i am affraid that the coral beauty will eat my corals. So i think i will just keep looking for a different type fish for the tank. Its no big deal, i am in no rush, plus i don't won't to make a mistake and put something in my tank that i will have to try and catch later down the road.
