So I lost my onespot foxface on sunday night and came home today, tuesday, to find the kole tang dead. The kole showed no outward signs even taking food monday night and some this morning. I have a 6 line and 2 clowns in the tank that seem fine, but I'm wondering what could've gotten these two. The foxface had a rough couple of days before he died and had a weird spot on his torso that discolored around it (see pics). The tank is a 120 gallon, i run carbon and gfo. I've done a 20 gallon water change weekly since September and thought everything was great. Corals are growing better than they ever have, but now the damn fish are dying. The kole had been in the tank for almost 3 years. The Foxface was a new addition - I'd had him for 3 months, so I'm wondering if he was sick and brought something in with him. My LFS keeps them for 2 weeks, and I kept him in my QT for another 3 before I added him and seemed fine until friday. Over 2 full months of normal behavior. Ate everything I put in. Usually mysis or formula 1 pellets and an algae sheet once or twice a week. Salinity is right around 1.026, alk is around 9 and calcium is around 395. Been trying to raise that a tad, but wasn't going crazy about it. I haven't tested for nitrates in a while, but I'll be doing that later, but with my weekly water changes I wasn't terribly worried about that. I'll attach a couple pics of the foxface at the end to see if anything comes to mind for anyone. There seemed to be some marks on the foxfaces tail you can see in the 2nd pic... It didn't look like ich to me, but now that I've lost two fish, i'm worried about something knocking them all out. Anyone have any thoughts, or things I can look for or test for?? Thanks and sorry for the rambling.
