got rid of mine too it liked my nippin at my gigas
and frog spawn and hammer coral
Well i've had them in the past w/o issues but this one developed a taste for them. For days now my clams have been unhappy-Tonight I saw him going at it.

I wonder if it would pick in my tank.. My sailfin picked clams when they're out in the open, however once I placed my clam up in a crevice in the rocks, it hasn't been bothered again. hmmmm. So now 2 people in the club with magnificent foxfaces have had foxface and clam issues :(

Eric you are welcome to have him.I hate using that frikin trap, I always knock @^@#^ down.
Anyways they sleep sound but too many corals around him willc.
BTW I'LL CHECK TOMORROW ON YOUR MOONLIGHTS-BEEN BUSY

maybe you should try a different approach, perhaps, feeding the poor fish :D
u again no more recommendations-the foker gets fed 3 times a day and still picks.

Caught mine chewing on the purple rim of a plating monti the other day, like a horse on a fence rail. He won't be going back in after the tank change out.

funny u mention that i just finished looking at your post on the sps thread and saw him in your pic and said to myself well he's one of the lucky ones. I guess many ff owners dont really tell the truth about picking and what not.

at least you know what to use for bait in the trap. just throw some clam strips inside lol.

that really sucks, you really wanted that fish.

hey jess u r right i wanted that soker for some algae control -and he has done that but my clam population is suffering dearly.
And yes I'm placing a clam inside the trap LOL

I think you are pulling the rope too fast, I have seen my purple, yellow tangs & foxface picking at some acros & my clams every once in a while, so far none have kill anything and my corals appear to be very healthy and growing.
For all I know this small nipping may very well be a natural behavior and possibly even beneficial to the coral, I mean lets face it, I have seen my tangs eating my mix food and they are well capable of tearing some flesh out when they find bigger morsels they can't swallow, IMO if they were trying to eat your clam they would have eat it already.

two weeks is all I need. 4 clams completely retracted mantle.
It may very well beneficial to your clams Rog but mine look like crap LOL.
The hunt is on.

The rope has been pulled!

The rope has been pulled!

I was not waiting around for him to destroy my tank-the bait believe it or not was a gold maxima inside of the trap. As soon as the mantle was fully extended he went right in and viola. He now lives in my sump, once he cleans all the algae there he's up for grabs.
Here's a pic of his doings.

I might be interested in him? right now I've got 3 wrasse's(filament, 6-line, and radiant) 2 clowns(percs) an engineer goby, and a pink spotted goby. It's a 75 gallon tank. Don't really have any algae. But I'm looking into getting some sps. Does he nibble on sps? or just clams? And if he isn't good for my tank, my neighbor (who i'm trying to get into fmas) has a 5 covered in algae. I gotts ask him if he may be interested.

What would you want for him?
