...he ate all the turf algae on the return pipe and cleaned off a bunch of the frag rack--he doesnt seem to want to swim at the bottom of the tank, so he hasnt touched anything down there, but the blenny may be eating some.

he also eats ora glo and cyclopeeze when i feed everyone else. i also have been giving him some of the grape calurpa, which he attacks immediately.

the problem: i can see his ribs.

what gives?

I have seen the same thing with some rabbitfish. I'm not sure what's going on with them, but it would not shock me if they were being caught by less than proper methods. Cyanide caught fish seem to eat well for a while then die anyway as they can't seem to diges food properly.
How long have you had the fish?

a month? got him from john.

Hmmmmm...normally they croak before that if they are cyanide caught I think.

They sure can eat though. Might want to offer him some of the sheets of veggies for a while to see if that lets him bulk up some. Wal-Mart sells it as sushi wrap..it's cheap.

he's eating fine...my concern is he's not gaining weight--between caluerpa, cyclopeeze...

Because I could not get rid of the grape calurpa, I gave up and bought a Bali Foxface. He much prefers nori (I buy it at Walmart in the oriental foods section). I put a 1/4 sheet up with a clip, and he nibbles at it often, and hardly bothers the calurpa, and he had no interest in the feather calurpa I offered him.
