Frag auction etiquette?

I’ve never been to a silent frag auction before, or a silent auction, or even an auction for that matter. I know, I’ve never really lived life if I haven’t been to an auction before.
So, here are a few questions:

What is silent about it?

What is a rough schedule of how the auction will go?

How does the bidding happen?

What are the acceptable/preferred methods of payments?

It's basically charades...with frags.


Actually silent, means you write your bid on a sheet of paper next to each frag. You can write a new bid anytime.

You have a time frame where you do this. When time is up you cannot bid on anymore frags.

Payment is cash on the barrel.

Are we going to do payment like the auction last time where we aquare up in full at the end of the auction?

Can we write checks?
or will we have to pay each seller seperately?

Cash will be the payment method, not to say everyone is not trust worthy, we just don't need the hassle if a check is bad. You will be able to pay at the end of the auction, you'll pay the entire amount owed and the club will pay the sellers.

I would like to make sure that everyone is clear on the rules of the auction.

If your NOT a MEMBER you CAN NOT SELL. You may BUY though

Members can sell as much of an item and as maybe items as they would like, wet or dry.

Once the auction starts buyers may place as many bids as they like, when the auction time is up there will be ABSOLUTELY NO bids taken. If you are seen placing a bid after the time is up your bid will be removed and the item will be sold to the top bidder. Please remember this is a club event lets keep things polite and curtious.
