Frag Green Hairy Polyp

I have a Green Hairy Ithink it is a polyp) that has nearly 5times the size that I bought it some 4 months ago. It is beginning to intrude upon other corals by smothering them. Can I frag it and how do you break it up as a frag?

I assume you're talking about a Rhodactus sp mushroom. If so its simple. Just take a pair of scissors and cut it at the base to get it off the rock. then take the cap and cut it like a pizza. Get some bridal veil material from walmart (in the fabric section) and hold a piece of mushroom down to a rock frag with the veil and glue/ rubber band the veil down. In a couple weeks the mushroom will attach to the rock and you're done. Also the mushroom will grow back from the stalk in its origional place. Just give it some time.

No I don't think that it is a mushroom. The LFS listed it as a Green Hairy.. It resembles a bed of grass with small white tips to each blade. Sorryu I don't know the name It is hard to learn everything in only 4 months.

I think that they mean green star polyps. Does it have a purple base?

sound like GSP green star polyps possibly?If it is then it looks kinda like grass with maybe a white dot in the middle If so its a matting and you can peal it off
