This month’s meeting features the hugely anticipated Frag Event!

The ORCA Frag Event is held 4 times a year. This popular gathering allows reefers to share their success with other reef hobbyists. Many of ORCA’s members have become hugely successful in growing soft, hard and stony corals. Coral reproduction in the modern reef aquarium has become easier with the increased knowledge people have and the advances in reefing equipment. It’s now easier than ever before to not only keep these delicate animals alive but to also raise and grow these animals to such size that they actually require pruning to make room for other corals to grow.

ORCA members frag their overgrowth and special corals they wish to share with their fellow hobbyists and bring them to these quarterly events. To see what’s in store for this coming event, please check out the ORCA Frag Event Forum hosted by ORCA’s Frag Coordinator Skinny Joe. Check back often for frag updates.

Please note that ORCA requires that any frags brought to this event be free and clean of unwanted pests and parasites. If you have “Red Bug”, “Planaria”, “Flatworms” or any other unwanted parasites in your tank please do not bring your corals to this event. Members who knowingly bring infected corals to this event will be dealt with accordingly.

ORCA does not condone nor support the commercial farming or commercial aqua culturing of live corals by anyone without proper licensing. For questions regarding Florida laws on Aqua culturing please see the following Web Sites:

Get ready for an awesome raffle! Lot’s of great items. If you have questions or comments regarding the Club raffle, please contact ORCA’s Raffle Director “Mac” at reefkpr@earthlink.net

See everyone soon!

I am a Fmas member in miami and am visiting family in Orlando thru the weekend. I thought of attending your event and picking up a few frags. Are other club members welcome or is this a members only event? What is the entry fee and are the frags for sale at different prices or is it an auction for each piece?

Thanks

Yes you are more than welcome to attend. There is a one time 5 dollar fee if you win anything..Everything is open bidding..

Just spoke with Terry and am looking forward to going to the event. One question tho.... I wont be home in Miami til Monday afternoon and wonder if the corals will be ok til then??? Or maybe there is someone in the kissimmee area (osceola/turnpike) that can maybe hold the pieces in their tank til sunday night?

opinions?

and thanks in advance,
Eddy
