Frag Swap Flier First draft

Ok. so im going to out this out to our members to take a look at. Please put your opinions on it in this thread. I will take your input and update it as we go along.

also, since I am already working on sponsorships for the swap and the flier, I have spoken with Zef and will basically be overseeing as much of the swap as I can. he is handling the location, I will be in charge of the rest. If you want to help in organizing it, that is GREAT. let me know and ill give you a task.

now, Let me know your thoughts. we will be putting as many sponsors on this as we can. we will also list some of the prizes (big ones). I do know we are getting a SWEEET auto water change or top off system from www.Genesisreefsystems.com. check them out!

Date will be either the 22nd of 15th depending on reservation. the flier will have the correct date.

Is January 22nd a definite date for the frag swap? If so, I'll get it on our club calendar and definitely make plans to be there.
 
I'd put the times on there (start time/end time). And for those that don't have a calendar handy when they see a flyer/poster, the day of the week would also be handy. I'd make the "nd" on the "22nd" superscript (or if it turns out to be the 15th - the "th"), so it is less pronounced.

Mario, thanks. Is the one I have too busy? I'll look into those but they have to be high res so they can print to paper best. I'll also have to edit those in Photoshop to make them capable to be a background that is easily readable.
 
no its not too busy i just thought ya might want to use an actual photo instead but i didnt even think of it being in high res or not, thats a cool look ya made though.....id help out with photoshop but i uninstalled it
 
Mario, thanks, this came from an actual photo. I worked on it to get this look. ill toy with those and see if they look any better.

You had me at "Frag swap"...
But, since you asked for feedback, I think Ronni is on to something with the color. I like purple or green myself. Also, maybe a border around the whole thing and perhaps spell out Middle Tennessee Reef Club somewhere. Maybe at the bottom in tiny letters...

I agree about the color.

Isn't this the photo that comes with Macs? Nice. :)

Also, I can contact Mike @ Glass-Holes... I have no doubt he'll donate something to the club for the raffle. Assuming someone else hasn't already.

Guys, ill go play with the color on it. I wanted it to be print friendly too. that said, adding that hint of green really sets it off as it will mostly be online.

Brandon, I am already in contact with a ton of vendors, That said, if you have a direct relationship with those guys, please let me know via PM and we can make arrangements.

I will also make a B/W printable for those that want to print it out in black and white. OH, and ill put the web addy and the venue addy on there too... forgot to put them in but they are on the list.
 
Lookn' good Lindsey! I didn't realize it was going to be at the same place it was last year. Cool - I already know where to go! LOL

Was it really only 4 hours last year (12-4)? Shoot, now that I kinda know what I'm doing, I'll need more shopping time than that!!!
