Frag tank questions

I have a jbj 30 rimless as I posted in this thread and I am thinking about upgrading my set up to a 90 gallon with 40 breeder sump and would like to flip my 30 rimless into a frag tank. Is this possible or what do I need to do to make this work.

Its possible, frag tanks can be as simple or complex as you want. BRS has a good YouTube series on it.

deeper tank means more water and better lighting. or you can stick the light halfway down the tank. or build a tall eggcrate rack. then toss a wrasse in.

I'm in the middle of designing a frag tank. Thinking about putting a box divider inside with slits. The center area will be for BTA. The outer ring area will have racks of zoas. the divider will be 1 inch lower than water surface for fish access. It will have standard sump and other equipment

Well I figured I could use the tank since I am upgrading the tank. The lighting on the frag tank will be a hydra 52; 7 1/2 inches off the water. How I plan to set it up I think is simple. Multiple levels of racks. Going off how my lfs has for there frag tank of course there design is much bigger. But I think it's simple. I will keep some live rock either in the tank or the over flow area.

I didn't think about keeping any fish but I guess I could. A wrasse sounds good or maybe a few.

I'll look at the video in brs. I may make some changes. I'll keep everyone posted on both builds. The frag tank will be simple compared to the 90 build. Which I have the tank, and 40br sump then rest I still need. I plan to use the substrate and live for the 90.

Right now the 90 is freshwater. The 30 houses zoas, two blue legged crabs, eight red hermit crabs, two peppermint shrimp, one candy cane, one Orange spotted goby pair, one purple firefish, two black Molly's.

The 90 will have:
2 hydra 52
Lighting rail system
Reef octopus skimmer
Emperor uv in line sterilizer
90lbs of Hawaiian black sand
100lbs of live rock
Reef octopus heater control ( which has digital temp display of the tank )
Tunze osmolator auto top off ( current model )
40 br sump
5 gallons of bio balls
In sump refugium
Mag drive as return pump
